Aramco awards Sinopec unit $1.4 billion MGS-3 natural gas pipeline contract

Saudi Aramco has awarded a Sinopec subsidiary a contract for work on Aramco’s Master Gas System Phase 3 project. 

Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Aramco) has awarded Sinopec International Petroleum Services Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sinopec Oilfield Service Corp. a turn-key fixed-price contract for in-country engineering, procurement, and construction of Packages 6 and 7 of Aramco’s Master Gas System Phase 3 (MGS-3) project. 

Total length of the two packages to be built by Sinopec is 696 km (431.5 miles), with mechanical completion expected by May 31, 2027.

The contract was valued at SAR5.2 billion ($1.4 billion).

Aramco last month awarded Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. three contracts covering pipelay of more than 800 km of MGS-3 laterals (OGJ Online, May 23, 2024).
