Davis named geophysicists' executive director

HOUSTON, Aug. 4 -- The Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Tulsa, has named Steven H. Davis as executive director, succeeding Mary Fleming, who retired on June 30.

Davis has spent his whole career with professional, science-based associations. Most recently he was executive director of the American Industrial Hygiene Association in Fairfax, Va., where he had been on the staff since 1998. Before that he was executive director of the American Horticultural Therapy Association in Gaithersburg, Md.

Fleming was SEG’s executive director since 2002. SEG has more than 32,000 members in 138 countries.
