ADNOC awarded a $1.17 billion contract for use of self-propelled jack-up barges to support the company’s plan to expand its crude oil production capacity to 5 million b/d by 2030.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) awarded a $1.17 billion contract to ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S) for use of 13 self-propelled jack-up barges to support the company’s plan to expand its crude oil production capacity to 5 million b/d by 2030.

The 5-year contract was awarded by ADNOC Offshore. The barges, which will be deployed across ADNOC’s offshore fields, are equipped to support operations including project work, maintenance, and accommodation. The barges, which will be hired along with manpower and equipment, will be used for rig-less well intervention and pre- and post-drilling operations, as well as for topside maintenance and integrity restoration activities on offshore assets.

The contract comes days after ADNOC let 15-year contracts totaling more than $3.4 billion to hire eight jack-up offshore rigs to aid production expansion plans (OGJ Online, Aug. 9, 2022).
