Petrobras enters teaser stage for Catua field sale

Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has entered the teaser stage regarding the sale of its entire stake (100%) in Catuá field in the BC-60 exploratory block in the Campos basin offshore Espírito Santo, Brazil.

The concession contract encompasses other fields besides Catuá, which will not be part of the present assignment of rights process, the operator said in a release Oct. 22.

The concession area lies in the territorial waters of Espírito Santo, about 128 km off the coast, in water depths of 1,700-1,950 m.

There are four wells drilled in the field where light oils were found in carbonatic reservoirs.
