Petrobras awards subsea contract to TechnipFMC

Petrobras has let a subsea contract to TechnipFMC PLC for Búzios 6-9 fields in Santos basin, offshore Brazil. The fields are part of the presalt area in 2,000 m of water.

Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has let a subsea contract to TechnipFMC PLC for Búzios 6-9 fields in Santos basin, offshore Brazil. The fields are part of the presalt area in 2,000 m of water.

TechnipFMC will supply subsea trees with controls, electrical and hydraulic distribution units, topside systems, and installation and intervention support services with rental tooling. Delivery is expected to begin in first-quarter 2023.

All of the subsea trees will be manufactured at facilities in Brazil, which are powered from renewable energy sources, said Jonathan Landes, president, subsea, TechnipFMC.

Petrobras is operator of Búzios field with 90% interest. Partners are CNOOC and CNODC, each with 5%.
