Eni unit Eni UK will become operator of northern North Sea production license P2511 with 100% interest following an application made in the 32nd UK Offshore Licensing Round (OGJ Online, Sept. 3, 2020).

The 340-sq km license lies about 250 km offshore UK in a water depth of 100-130 m close to the UK-Norwegian border where several discoveries have been made, the company said in a Jan. 26 release.

The license has an Initial exploration term of 6 years.

The Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) offered for award 113 license areas over 259 blocks or partial blocks to 65 companies in the UK's 32nd Offshore Licensing Round. The regulatory authority noted plans to pause licensing rounds for the 2020-21 period to “allow relinquishments to take place so more coherent areas may be re-offered in future, giving industry time to deliver on work commitments in the existing portfolio of licenses.”
