Qatargas has let a contract to McDermott International Ltd. to deliver front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for Qatar Petroleum's North Field South (NFS) project.
The contract scope includes the replication of five offshore wellhead platforms. The FEED contract will be executed from McDermott's Doha office and work will begin immediately.
North Field South, the second phase of Qatar Petroleum’s North Field Expansion project being executed by Qatargas, is expected to increase Qatar’s LNG production capacity to 126 million tpy. First gas from the North Field Expansion project is expected by end 2025 (OGJ Online, Sept. 29, 2020).
A contract value was not disclosed.
