BG International Ltd., a Royal Dutch Shell subsidiary, has terminated a contract for the Mærsk Developer, a DSS-21 column-stabilized dynamically positioned semi-submersible able to operate in water depths up to 10,000 ft, Maersk Drilling said Apr. 17. BG let the contract to Maersk Drilling in November 2019 for work offshore Trinidad and Tobago on a two-well development project. The contract, with five additional one-well options, was previously expected to begin in this year’s first quarter and end in August. The rig is en route to Port of Spain, Trindad, and is expected to arrive April 22.
Aker BP terminated a its contract with Maersk Drilling for the Maersk Reacher jack-up, which was hired for accommodation services on Valhall field, effective end of April. The original end of contract was expected to be October 2020.
