Petrobras contractor lets MWS award for Mero 3, Mero 4 work
Petrobras contractor Subsea 7 has let a marine warranty surveyor (MWS) contract to ABL Energy & Marine Consultants Brasil for subsea risers and flowlines (SURF) infrastructure for the Mero 3 and Mero 4 developments in Santos basin, offshore Brazil.
ABL will support Subsea7 with the transportation and installation campaign for the SURF infrastructure.
Mero 3 and Mero 4 projects envisage the subsequent build-up of subsea pipelines and associated SURF infrastructure, at both fields in Brazil’s Santos Basin, at water depth of 1,850-2,100 m.
ABL’s workscope will include the technical document review and approval of operational and engineering documentation, suitability surveys of the proposed fleet, on-site attendance to witness and approve all critical onshore and offshore operations, approval of limiting environmental criteria, and attendance at all HAZID and HAZOP meetings.
Offshore transportation and installation work is currently under way.
The unitized Mero field is operated by Petrobras (38.6%). Partners are TotalEnergies (19.3%), Shell Brasil (19.3%), CNPC (9.65%), CNOOC Petroleum Brasil Ltda. (9.65%), and Pré-Sal Petróleo SA (PPSA) (3.5%).
