SDX Energy PLC discovered gas at the MA-1X well in the exploration extension area of South Disouq, Egypt.
The well, the third and final well of the 2022 South Disouq drilling campaign, spudded on May 21, 2022, and targeted the Mohsen prospect (OGJ Online, May 26, 2022). It reached TD at 6,400 ft MD on May 31, 2022. The primary basal Kafr El Sheikh target was encountered at 5,762 ft MD and discovered 56.3-ft net pay gas sand with average porosity of 31.9%.
MA-1X will now be completed and tested. Pre-drill gross P50 estimated ultimate recovery is 21 bcf.
