SDX Energy spuds South Disouq exploration

SDX Energy PLC spudded the MA-1X exploration well targeting the Mohsen prospect in the Exploration Extension Area of South Disouq, Egypt.

SDX Energy PLC spudded the MA-1X exploration well targeting the Mohsen prospect in the Exploration Extension Area of South Disouq, Egypt.

Drilling started May 21, 2022, and is expected to reach TD in about 3 weeks, the company said in a release. The primary target is the basal Kafr El Sheikh sand at around 5,730 ft TVDSS. The well is targeting an estimated gross unrisked P50 EUR of 21 bcf and has 45% chance of success, SDX said.

MA-1X is the third well to be drilled in South Disouq this year (OGJ Online, Mar. 22, 2022).

SDX is operator of South Disouq (55%) and has 67% working interest in MA-1X.
