OAO Gazprom has reported “substantial gas and condensate inflow” from a well on the Kirinsky block in the Sea of Okhotsk (OGJ Online, Oct. 25, 2013).

The company said “a prospecting and appraisal well” was drilled in the Yuznho-Lunskaya structure, but provided no further details on the well.

After the well is tested and geological information is analyzed, Gazprom will submit reserves estimates to the Federal Subsurface Use Agency.

As part of the Sakhalin III project, Gazprom is engaged in geological exploration of three blocks: Kirinsky, Ayashsky, and Vostochno-Odoptinsky.
