Gas production from Kuwait Energy Eqypt-operated Al Jahraa field in Egypt’s western desert through a new 10 km gas pipeline to the neighboring KPC facility has begun, said partner United Oil & Gas PLC.

The pipeline was brought onstream on Mar. 22 and increased production from the Abu Sennan concession by 650 boe/d to a gross of about 8,400 boe/d. Production in the concession has more than doubled in 12 months driven in part by ASH-2, which produces over 3,000 b/d.

El Salmiyah 5 infill well drilling operations continue, targeting multiple undrained reservoirs within El Salmiyah field. Due to the current low oil price, Kuwait Energy Egypt—operator of the Abu Sennan concession—will defer at least two of the four planned 2020 infill wells.

United Oil & Gas owns 22% of Abu Sennan with Kuwait Energy Egypt 25% (operator), Global Connect Ltd. 25%, and Dover Investments 28%.
