BW Energy Ltd. has started production from the third well of Hibiscus-Ruche Phase 1 development in the Dussafu license offshore Gabon. Well performance is in line with expectations and production is about 6,000 b/d.

The DHIBM-5H horizontal well was drilled from the BW MaBoMo production platform to 4,245 m TD into Gamba sandstone reservoir at Hibiscus field. Following completion, the Borr Norve jack-up has commenced drilling operations on the fourth production well (DHIBM-6H).

The drilling campaign targets four Hibiscus Gamba and two Ruche Gamba wells which are expected to bring the total oil production up to about 40,000 b/d when all wells are completed in early 2024. Oil produced at Hibiscus-Ruche is transported by pipeline to the BW Adolo FPSO for processing and storage before offloading to export tankers. The Adolo FPSO recently had a new gas lift compressor installed to support production from six Tortue wells (OGJ Online, July 18, 2023).

First oil from Hibiscus-Ruche Phase 1 was achieved in April (OGJ Online, Apr. 10, 2023).

BW Energy Gabon is operator of the Dussafu license (73.5%) with partners Panoro Energy (17.5%) and Gabon Oil Co. (9%).
