Eni lets well construction contract for Cronos offshore gas project

Eni SPA has let a contract to Halliburton for the Cronos ultra-deepwater development in Block 6 of the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone.
Under the contract, Halliburton will deliver integrated drilling, well construction, automation, and completions services for exploration and development wells. The bundled scope reduces operational interfaces, improves execution certainty, and supports efficient delivery for a multi-year ultra-deepwater development.
The scope includes drilling fluids, directional drilling, automation and remote operations, cementing, surface well testing, and coiled tubing. Halliburton will support the efforts through its established infrastructure and regional capabilities in Cyprus.
Cronos will be developed through four subsea wells and is expected to reach a plateau of 500 MMcfd. Gas will be transported via subsea pipeline and processed in existing Zohr installations in Egypt, then transferred and liquefied in the Damietta LNG plant for export to international markets, mostly in the European Union.
Eni holds 50% interest in and operates Block 6 on behalf of joint-venture partner TotalEnergies SE, which holds the remaining 50% stake.
