Northern Gulf Petroleum secures drilling contract for operations offshore Thailand

Northern Gulf Petroleum Pte Ltd. has let a jack-up drilling rig services and associated services contract to Velesto Energy Bhd.’s wholly-owned subsidiary Velesto Sumber Sdn. Bhd. for work offshore Thailand.
Under the contract, Velesto will provide the NAGA 6 jackup for a drilling campaign in the Gulf of Thailand. The firm work scope comprises four infill wells and three exploration wells.
NGP was awarded G1, G3, and G6 offshore exploration blocks in 2007 spanning a total of 36,000 sq km. In 2009, the company made commercial discoveries in Manora field and Rossukon field (Block G6/48). In 2023, NGP acquired 100% working interest and full operatorship of Rossukon.
In 2025, NGP completed its second drilling campaign at Rossukon, adding up to 11 infill wells to increase production capacity to 13,000–15,000 b/d.
