MOL Norge to drill appraisal 12 km north of Balder field

    MOL Norge AS has received consent to drill appraisal well 25/8-22 S in PL 820 S in the North Sea by the Norwegian Sea by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway. The area in the license consists of parts of Blocks 25/7 and 25/8.

    MOL Norge AS has received consent to drill appraisal well 25/8-22 S in production license (PL) 820 S in the North Sea by the Norwegian Sea by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA). The area in the license consists of parts of Blocks 25/7 and 25/8.

    The well will be the fourth in the license and will be drilled about 12 km north of Balder field by the Transocean Barents semisubmersible drilling rig.

    MOL Norge is operator with 40% interest. Partners are Lundin Energy Norway AS (41%), Pandion Energy AS (12.5%), and Wintershall Dea Norge AS (6.5%).
