Pan American Energy has advanced a five-well Vaca Muerta drilling program in the Coiron Amargo Sur Este (CASE) block in Argentina, partner Centaurus Energy Inc. said Mar. 30.

CASE-301h horizontal multi-frac, the fourth well of the program, was completed and connected to early production facilities Feb. 3. Production results will be announced when available.

CASE-102(h), the fifth well, was drilled as a replacement well for CASE-202(h) which was temporarily abandoned due to technical drilling problems. The well is currently awaiting completion.

The CASE-401h multi-frac well—the third in the program—was completed and tested (OGJ Online, Jan. 15, 2020). The well was drilled with a nearly 2,000-m horizontal lateral at about 3,100 m vertical depth and was connected on Jan. 7 to early production facilities. Thirty-day average initial rate was 950 b/d with 4,600 psi average wellhead pressure.

Pan American Energy is operator at CASE with 55% stake. Partners are Centaurus Energy (formerly Madalena Energy Inc., 35%) and Gas y Petroleo del Neuquen S.A. (GyP, 10%).
