Norwegian authorities grant decision deadline extensions

Partners in production licenses (PL) 818 and 818B Orkja in the North Sea and PL 838B Shaw in the Norwegian Sea have received extensions from Norwegian authorities.

Partners in production licenses (PL) 818 and 818B Orkja in the North Sea and PL 838B Shaw in the Norwegian Sea have received extensions from Norwegian authorities.

For PL 818 and PL 818B Orkja, approval was granted Mar. 10 for a 1-year extension for the drill or drop decision to Feb. 5, 2022. The initial period ending on Feb. 5, 2026 remains unchanged.

For PL 838B Shaw, approval was granted Mar. 15 for a 1-year extension for the drill or drop decision to Mar. 1, 2022. The initial period is extended by a year to Mar. 1, 2027.

Aker BP is operator at PL 818 and PL 818B (40%) with partners Equinor Energy AS (30%) and Lime Petroleum AS (30%). Rex International Holding Ltd. holds 90% of Lime Petroleum.

PGNiG Upstream Norway AS is operator at PL 838B (40%) with partners Aker BP ASA (30%) and Lime Petroleum AS (30%).
