Touchstone Exploration Inc. mobilized a service rig to Chinook-1 in the Ortoire exploration block onshore the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to perform a completion and production testing program to evaluate reservoir pressures and hydrocarbon deliverability of the Herrera sands observed while drilling and defined by open hole wireline logs (OGJ Online, Oct. 14, 2020).

The first test will evaluate the previously untested subthrust Herrera sands, while the other tests are expected to investigate the potential of the intermediate and overthrust Herrera sand intervals. Results from the program are expected first-quarter 2021.

Following testing, the rig is expected to immediately move to Cascadura Deep-1 where the production testing program is anticipated to include flow and buildup testing of three zones of interest. The first two tests will evaluate sands observed in two previously untested thrust sheets in the intermediate Herrera below sands observed in the Cascadura1ST1 well, while the third test will assess the base of the sands which were observed but not fully penetrated in the Cascadura-1ST1 well.

The company executed a long-term natural gas sales agreement through its subsidiary, Primera Oil and Gas Ltd., with the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. (NGC) for all future natural gas production from Ortoire block. Production will initially come from Coho-1 field.

Touchstone is operator in Ortoire (80%) with partner Heritage Petroleum Co. Ltd. (20%).
