Indonesia Energy Corp. Ltd. (IEC) obtained a key permit to initiate its 2020 drilling campaign in the 63,000-acre Kruh Block onshore Sumatra (OGJ Online, Jan. 24, 2020).
The company's Technical Program and Drilling Budget was approved by Pertamina, Indonesia's state-owned oil and natural gas company, which also granted IEC the permit to begin the bidding process to secure drilling contractors.
IEC has started the process to secure a drilling rig, drilling goods, and other services needed to begin its plan to drill six new wells—at a cost of $1.5 million each—when its operatorship at Kruh renews in May. These activities are expected to be completed in this year’s second quarter.
On the 1,000,000-acre Citarum Block in West Java, 16 mi south of Jakarta, Indonesia, IEC has been granted a permit to begin a 2D seismic survey acquisition program designed to help the company predict the reservoir extent and select drilling location for delineating gas discoveries.
