Hurricane Energy PLC, London, has started installation of an early production system for Lancaster oil field in the West of Shetland area offshore the UK (OGJ Online, Mar. 27, 2017).

It expects production to begin next year and rise to 17,000 b/d from two wells completed subsea in naturally fractured basement. The oil will flow into the Bluewater Energy Services Aoka Mizu floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, which is due on location in the second half of this year.

Hurricane has installed enhanced horizontal christmas trees on the wells, 205/21a-6 and 205/21a-7Z, which are in 150 m of water on Block 205/21a.

The buoy for the turret mooring system has departed Drydocks World in Dubai for arrival in June, allowing installation of the mooring system in the third quarter. Piles, chains, and wires have been delivered.
