WhiteWater to expand Pelican Pipeline capacity
WhiteWater Midstream, Austin, Tex., is expanding capacity of the Pelican Pipeline.
The pipeline will be comprised of 42-in. OD pipe—larger than the originally planned 36-in. OD pipe—which will increase pipeline capacity to about 2.5 bcfd from 1.75 bcfd, the company said in a release July 30.
A final investment decision (FID) on the Pelican Pipeline was taken in October 2024 after having sufficient firm transportation agreements with shippers were secured (OGJ Online, Oct. 31, 2024).
The pipeline is designed to transport natural gas through about 170 miles of pipeline from Williams, La., to the Gillis Hub near Ragley, La. Supply for the Pelican Pipeline will be sourced from multiple upstream connections in the Haynesville basin, including direct connections to processing infrastructure, the company said at the time of FID.
The expansion is scheduled to be in service in first-half 2027, pending the receipt of customary regulatory and other approvals.
