Utopia Pipeline starts Marcellus-to-Ontario ethane service

Kinder Morgan Inc. began service on its Utopia Pipeline, delivering 50,000 b/d of ethane from Harrison County, Ohio, to Windsor, Ont. The 12-in. OD Utopia system extends 270 miles and can be expanded to more than 75,000 b/d.

Riverstone Investment Group LLC owns 50% of Utopia, with KMI holding the balance. Nova Chemicals Corp. is a long-term contract customer (OGJ Online, June 28, 2016).
