Equinor Energy AS has let a contract to Saipem for work on the Irpa pipeline project in deep waters of the Norwegian Sea.

Equinor Energy AS has let a contract to Saipem for work on the Irpa pipeline project in deep waters of the Norwegian Sea.

The project consists of the installation of 80-km-long swagged pipe-in-pipe pipeline connecting the subsea production template of Irpa field to the existing Aasta Hansteen platform (OGJ Online, Nov. 22, 2022).

Offshore operations are expected to take place in 2025 and will be performed by Saipem’s Castorone vessel.

Equinor is operator at Irpa (51%) with partners Wintershall DEA (19%), Petoro AS (20%), and Shell PLC (10%).
