QatarEnergy signed an agreement with Eni to supply Italy with up to 1 million tonnes/year (tpy) of LNG for 27 years.
LNG sourced from the joint venture between QatarEnergy and Eni holding interest in Qatar’s North Field East (NFE) expansion will be delivered to the floating storage and regasification (FSRU) Italia in the port of Piombino, in Italy’s Tuscany region.
LNG deliveries are expected to start in 2026.
Eni is a partner in the 32 million tpy NFE expansion project with a 3.125% share.
