HOUSTON, Aug. 24 – Empire Petroleum Corp., Tulsa, Okla., will attempt to complete the Empire Paradise Unit 2-12 exploratory well in northwestern Nye County, Nev., at present total depth of 4,248 ft.

The well was projected to Triassic at 5,500-6,500 ft, but it recorded oil shows and lost circulation in 93 ft of fractured volcanics above total depth and recovered a small amount of oil. The location is in the 40,073-acre Paradise Federal Unit 140 miles northwest of Trap Spring oil field.
