HOUSTON, May 12
-- An exploratory well in southern Bolivia has tested gas-condensate, confirming a northern extension of the Incahuasi structure discovered in 2004.

Total E&P Bolivie said the AQI-X1001 well flowed at rates of 17.6 MMcfd of gas and 500 b/d of condensate from a limited section of the formation.

The well, on the Aquio block, confirms the northern extension of the structure found in 2004 by the ICS-X1 well on the adjacent Ipati block. Hydrocarbons on both blocks are contained in fractured sandstone reservoirs of Devonian age.

The company has submitted a commerciality declaration that relates to both blocks.

Total E&P Bolivie operates the blocks with 80% participating interest. Tecpetrol de Bolivia has 20% interest. Under an agreement entered into in 2010 and which remains subject to government approval, Total will assign OAO Gazprom a 20% interest in both blocks.
