Trio names Ross to succeed Peterson as CEO
Trio Petroleum Corp., Bakersfield, Calif., has appointed Robin Ross as its new chief executive officer, effective July 11, 2024. Ross recently rejoined the company as the chairman of the board.
Ross, who co-founded the company, succeeds Michael L. Peterson, who was named chief executive officer in October 2023 (OGJ Online, Oct. 18, 2023).
Trio Petroleum has oil and gas operations in Monterey County, Calif., and Uintah County, Utah. In Monterey County, Trio owns 85.75% working interest in 9,245 acres at Presidents and Humpback oilfields in the South Salinas Project, and 21.92% working interest in 800 acres in McCool Ranch field. In Uintah County, Trio owns 2.25% working interest in 960 acres and options to acquire up to 20% working interest in the 960 acres, in an adjacent 1,920 acres, and in the greater 30,000 acres of the Asphalt Ridge Project.
Ross said the company expects to increase oil production and cash flow at all the company’s assets. McCool Ranch is producing currently primarily from one well. In the near term, five producing wells are expected, Ross said. The company is also taking steps to increase production at Presidents field.
At the Asphalt Ridge Project in Utah, the first two wells have been drilled and completed. Heat treatment has started at one well, and the second is slated to shortly follow, Ross continued.
