Chord Energy appoints new COO

Chord Energy Corp., Houston, has appointed Darrin Henke to executive vice-president and chief operating officer.

Chord Energy Corp., Houston, has appointed Darrin Henke to executive vice-president and chief operating officer, effective Jan. 2, 2024, succeeding Chip Rimer, who will retire Jan. 12, 2024.

Henke has over 30 years of upstream oil and gas experience, most recently as president and chief executive officer of Ranger Oil Corp., which was acquired by Baytex Energy in 2023 (OGJ Online, Feb. 28, 2023).

Last year, a subsidiary of Chord Energy agreed to acquire assets in the Williston basin from Exxon Mobil Corp. subsidiary XTO Energy Inc. and affiliates for $375 million (OGJ Online, May 22, 2023).
