Gran Tierra Energy Inc., Calgary, has appointed Sebastien Morin as chief operating officer.
Morin was most recently president and chief operating officer at WesternZagros Resources Ltd., a privately-owned petroleum operating company with production sharing contracts in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Prior to WesternZagros Resources, Morin was employed by Gran Tierra, holding positions in Colombia and Calgary. Prior to his original tenure with Gran Tierra, Morin spent 13 years with Imperial Oil (Esso) and ExxonMobil.
For third-quarter 2023, Gran Tierra had total average working interest production of 33,940 b/d of oil, up 12% from a year ago and up 1% from second-quarter 2023.
