Petrobras shipping subsidiary makes executive appointments

Petrobras Transporte SA (Transpetro), a Petrobras subsidiary, has approved the appointment of Sergio Hermes Martello Bacci as the company’s chief executive officer.

Petrobras Transporte SA (Transpetro), a Petrobras subsidiary, has approved the appointment of Sergio Hermes Martello Bacci as the company’s chief executive officer.

Fernando Mascarenhas Cavalcanti de Barros has been approved for appointment as chief financial officer and Jones Alexandre Barros Soares as chief maritime transportation, pipelines, and terminals officer of the shipping company.

The nominations are subject to election by Transpetro's board, which is expected to occur Apr. 27.

Sergio Hermes Martello Bacci has more than 20 years of experience in the naval and offshore sector, logistics and maritime transport, serving in management at ASGAARD Navegação SA, Opmar Serviços Marítimos LTDA, and BRAM Offshore.

Fernando Mascarenhas Cavalcanti de Barros has 22 years of experience in the aviation, shipping, mining, and steel industries, having held leadership positions at Varig SA, Vale SA (Vale) and Vale group companies.

Jones Alexandre Barros Soares has served at Petrobras for 31 years and at Transpetro for 22 years. He has held managerial positions for 23 years, including as executive manager of ship operations and director of Transpetro International BV.
