Kosmos Energy, Dallas, promoted Tim Nicholson to senior vice-president and head of exploration. John Shinol has been promoted to senior vice-president and chief geoscientist.
Nicholson and Shinol joined Kosmos in 2018 and have been integral to the company’s infrastructure-led exploration efforts, primarily in the US Gulf of Mexico and Equatorial Guinea. They both previously served at Cobalt International Energy where they were responsible for discoveries in West Africa (Angola) and the US Gulf of Mexico (North Platte, Anchor, and Heidelberg).
Tracey Henderson, the previous senior vice-president of exploration, left Kosmos to become senior vice-president, exploration, at APA Corp. (OGJ Online, Apr. 12, 2021).
