Poirier to succeed Girling as TC Energy president, CEO

François Poirier will succeed Russ Girling as president and chief executive officer of TC Energy Corp. and will join the board Jan. 1, 2021. Girling will retire Dec. 31 and assist Poirier with the transition through Feb. 28, 2021.

Girling has served as chief operating officer of the former TransCanada Corp. since April 2010 (OGJ Online, May 6, 2019; Apr. 15, 2010) .

Poirier currently serves as chief operating officer as well as holding the roles of president, power and storage and Mexico, overseeing commercial, business development, project, regulatory and the operating functions of each of these businesses. He joined the company in 2014.
