The US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) intends to offer leases on 4,276 acres in Montana and North Dakota.

The leases, on which BLM is seeking final comments through Dec. 4, lie in Montana’s Liberty and Richland counties, and North Dakota’s Bottineau, Burke, Dunn, and McKenzie counties, the agency said in a Nov. 5 notice.

BLM completed scoping on the parcels in July 2025 and held a public comment period that closed in September 2025 on the parcels and the related environmental analysis.

The sale is scheduled for Jan. 13, 2026.
