INA to own 100% of gas fields off Croatia

INA, Zagreb, has agreed to buy Eni Croatia BV and become 100% owner and sole operator of Northern Adriatic and Marica area gas fields offshore Croatia, reports MOL Group of Budapest, which owns 49.1% of the buyer.

The transaction covers production of nearly 380,000 cu m/day of gas and represents Eni’s exit from Croation exploration and production. Eni and INA have worked in a 50-50 joint venture under a production-sharing agreement with the Croatian government.

Fields covered by the transaction are Ivana, Ika, Ida, Annamaria, Irina, Ana, and Vesna in the Northern Adriatic group and Marica and Katarina in the Marica group.

Eni said the sale of gas to Italy from the Marica area will continue under a commercial agreement between it and INA.

Other interests in INA are the Croatian government, 44.8%, and private and institutional investors, 6.1%.
