Hill named chief executive officer of Vess Oil

Barry Hill has been promoted to chief executive officer of Vess Oil Corp., private Wichita operator.

Barry Hill has been promoted to chief executive officer of Vess Oil Corp., private Wichita operator. Hill was vice-president and chief financial officer since he joined the company in February 2010.

J. Michael Vess, founder of Vess Oil, will assume the role of chairman. Vess was president and chief executive officer since the company’s inception in 1979.

Vess’s assets are mainly in Kansas, and it has growing operations in Texas, Montana, and Oklahoma. It also serves as the contract operator for the underlying properties in two publicly traded statutory Delaware trusts, the MV Oil Trust and the VOC Energy Trust.
