Vista Energy SAB de CV plans to deploy a second frac fleet to accelerate its oil production activity in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta basin. The operator has signed a contract with SLB to import the equipment into the country, extended its partnership with the service provider, the company said in a release June 11 (OGJ Online, Apr. 25, 2024).
Vista is targeting 85,000 boe/d production for fourth-quarter 2024 and expects the incorporation of a second frac fleet to provide flexibility for accelerated production in the year’s second half.
In September 2023, Vista said that between 2024 and 2026, it plans to put 138 new shale oil wells into production—a 33% increase compared with the previous plan—to reach a production of 100,000 boe/d by 2026 (OGJ Online, Sept. 28, 2023).
