OMV sells its 50% Ashtart stake to Perenco

OMV AG has sold its 50% stake in Ashtart oil field off Tunisia to Perenco, London, for an undisclosed amount.

The Austrian company’s average share of production from the Gulf of Gabes field last year was 3,000 boe/d.

The transaction includes OMV’s 50% stake in the operating company SEREPT. Tunisian National Oil Co. holds 50% of Ashtart and SEREPT.

Perenco operates El Franig, Baguel, and Tarfa gas and condensate fields in central Tunisia with 50% interests.
