Petrobras enters negotiations for Potiguar cluster divestment

Petrobras has started the negotiation phase of divestment of the Potiguar cluster, which includes 26 concessions of onshore and shallow water production fields, including the 39,600 b/d Clara Camarão refinery, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

Of binding offers received, 3R Petroleum submitted the best proposal, worth more than $1 billion, Petrobras said in an Aug. 26 statement.

A deal signing will depend on the outcome of the negotiations, as well as necessary corporate approvals, the company continued.

Potiguar cluster is composed of three sub‐clusters (Canto do Amaro, Alto do Rodrigues, and Ubarana). Average production of the cluster 2020 (January-June) was 23,000 b/d of oil, of which 97% was produced onshore and 3% offshore, and 124,000 cu m/d of gas, of which 54% was produced offshore and 46% onshore.
