Libra Mero consortium lets vessel contract

Libra consortium leader Petrobras let a 3-year multipurpose supply vessel (MPSV) contract to DOF Subsea to support Mero oil field operations offshore Brazil in the northwestern Libra area of the Santos basin presalt.

Vessel Skandi Salvador will operate two work class remotely operated vehicles (WROV) for 24 hours providing inspection, maintenance, and subsea commissioning services in water depths up to 2,500 m, including shallow dive services with Oceânica.

DOF Subsea Brazil will be responsible for ROV operations while Norskan will be responsible for marine operations. Both companies are subsidiaries of DOF ASA.

Petrobras is operator of the consortium with 40% interest. Partners are Shell and Total, 20% each; and China National Petroleum Corp. and CNOOC Ltd., 10% each. State-owned Pre-Sal Petroleo is contract manager.
