bp-led Ginger project lets subsea precommissioning contract

The Ginger development, located off Trinidad's southeast coast at depths up to 90 meters, will feature four subsea wells tied back to the Mahogany B platform, with a peak capacity of 62,000 b/d of oil, supported by EnerMech's pre-commissioning package.

bp PLC contractor Subsea7 SA has signed EnerMech to deliver pipeline and subsea pre-commissioning services for the Ginger subsea development project in Trinidad and Tobago.

Under the contract, EnerMech is delivering a comprehensive pre-commissioning package covering pipeline and subsea testing, flushing, hydrotesting, water filling, leak testing, and commissioning support activities required to prepare the field's subsea production system for safe operation.

The scope supports both installation and commissioning phases of the development, the service provider said.

bp’s Ginger development lies off the southeast coast of the island of Trinidad, at water depths of up to 90 m. In March, bp Trinidad and Tobago sanctioned the gas development project, which at peak, is expected to have capacity to produce 62,000 b/d of oil. Ginger will include four subsea wells and subsea trees tied back to the existing Mahogany B platform.
