bp Trinidad & Tobago (bpTT) has let an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPC) contract to Massy Wood for the Ginger gas development project offshore Trinidad.

Massy Wood, a Wood joint venture company, will deliver detailed brownfield engineering and execute topside upgrades on the Juniper platform. The scope includes enhancements to subsea pipeline corrosion protection and the integration of methanol injection systems for safe well startup and flexible operations, the service provider said in a release Dec. 12.

This execution phase follows Massy Wood’s completion of the pre-front end engineering design (pre-FEED) and FEED phases in March 2025.

The Ginger development lies off the southeast coast of the island of Trinidad, at water depths of up to 90 m. In March, bp Trinidad and Tobago sanctioned the gas development project, which at peak, is expected to have capacity to produce 62,000 b/d of oil. Ginger will include four subsea wells and subsea trees tied back to the existing Mahogany B platform.
