Azule Energy Angola SPA has let a subsea contract to Saipem for the West Hub Tails project, part of the wider Agogo Integrated West Hub Development 180 km offshore Angola.

Saipem’s scope of work covers engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation of subsea infrastructures, including about 62 km of flowlines, risers, and umbilicals, to be tied-in to the Agogo floating production, storage, and offloading unit (FPSO), with an expected duration of about 2.5 yr.

Fabrication activities will be carried out at Saipem’s Ambriz yard in Angola, with the involvement of local companies and workforce. For the offshore campaign, Saipem will deploy the construction vessels FDS and Normand Maximus.

The contract is worth about $350 million.

The Agogo Integrated West Hub (Agogo IWH) project develops Agogo and Ndungu fields in the West Hub of Block 15/06 in up to 1,750 m of water. The fields have combined estimated reserves of about 450 million bbl.

Azule is operator of the block with 36.84% interest. Partners are Sonangol E&P (36.84%) and Sinopec International (26.32%). Azule is a 50-50 joint venture between bp PLC and Eni SPA.
