ExxonMobil discovers gas offshore Egypt

ExxonMobil Egypt (Upstream) Ltd. discovered hydrocarbons in the Nefertari-1 exploratory well in North Marakia block, about 5 miles offshore Egypt.

ExxonMobil Egypt (Upstream) Ltd. discovered hydrocarbons in the Nefertari-1 exploratory well in North Marakia block, about 5 miles offshore Egypt, the company said on its official LinkedIn page. 

The well was drilled by the Valaris DS-9 drillship. Gas bearing reservoirs were encountered, and ExxonMobil will continue to evaluate the results.

ExxonMobil is operator in North Marakia block with partner Qatar Energy.
