ExxonMobil lets subsea contract to TechnipFMC for newest development offshore Guyana

ExxonMobil Guyana Ltd. has let a subsea production systems contract to TechnipFMC for the operator’s recently sanctioned Whiptail project in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana.

ExxonMobil Guyana Ltd. has let a subsea production systems contract to TechnipFMC for the operator’s recently sanctioned Whiptail project in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana (OGJ Online, Apr. 12, 2024).

TechnipFMC will provide project management, engineering, and manufacturing to deliver 48 subsea trees and associated tooling, as well as 12 manifolds and associated controls and tie-in equipment.

In a release Apr. 15, Technip FMC said it currently employs nearly 140 Guyanese and expects to continue to hire and train additional local staff in support of the new award. The company has been awarded similar contracts by ExxonMobil Guyana since the first contract award in 2017 for Liza Phase 1.

The service provider values the contract between $500 million and $1 billion.
