Zarubezhneft to operate Kharyaga PSA

Total SA and Zarubezhneft have agreed to shift 20% and operatorship of the Kharyaga production-sharing agreement to the Russian company (OGJ Online, June 25, 2009). No terms were reported.

The PSA covers two of six geological strata in Kharyaga oil field in the Nenets Autonomous District of Russia, 60 km north of the Arctic Circle in the Timan-Pechora basin.

Gross production under the PSA is 30,000 b/d of oil. The field has complex geology, heterogeneous carbonate reservoirs, waxy oil, and sour associated gas.

New interests are Zarubezhneft 40%, Statoil ASA 30%, Total 20%, and Nenets Oil Co. 10%.
