Equinor lets contract for Halten Øst subsea pipelines

Equinor Energy ASA has let a contract to John Wood Group PLC to design subsea pipelines for Equinor’s Halten Øst (East) project, offshore Norway, the service provider said in a release Aug. 30.

Equinor Energy ASA has let a contract to John Wood Group PLC to design subsea pipelines for Equinor’s Halten Øst (East) project, offshore Norway, the service provider said in a release Aug. 30.

Halten Øst is a multi-field development estimated to hold recoverable reserves of 100 MMboe (60% gas). Development will utilize existing infrastructure as well as a new subsea pipeline system to tie-back to Åsgard B platform in the Norwegian Sea (OGJ Online, June 6, 2022).

Work will be executed by Wood’s subsea and pipeline engineering specialists in Norway, following delivery of the concept design and front-end engineering design (FEED). The contract was awarded under a master services agreement for engineering services with Equinor.
