Petronas Suriname Exploration & Production BV (PSEPBV) is conducting a seep survey and geochemical campaign in Block 48, offshore Suriname, service provider Fugro said in a release Mar. 10.
The work, aimed to optimize future exploration activities in the frontier area, is being conducted from Fugro’s survey vessel, MV Fugro Brasilis, and involves geophysical data collection, heat flow measurements, core sampling, and onboard geochemical analyses.
Fieldwork will run through this year’s first quarter, with subsequent geochemical analyses and final reports delivered in May.
PSEPBV is a subsidiary of Petronas and is operator of the block with 100% interest.
