Petronas lets positioning contract for work offshore Suriname

Petronas Suriname E&P BV (PSEPBV) let a marine positioning services contract to Fugro for an exploration program in Block 52 off the coast of Paramaribo, Suriname, in Guyana-Suriname basin. Contract work has begun.

The 2-year contract includes use of the Starfix positioning solution for transit, anchoring, and drilling activities for semisubmersible rig and support vessels.

Petronas and ExxonMobil recently discovered hydrocarbons at the Sloanea-1 exploration well in the 4,749-sq km block. (OGJ Online, Dec. 11, 2020).

PSEPBV is operator in a 50-50 partnership with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Suriname BV.
